True motivation is not a push. Motivation is not doing something because you think you should or others think you should. True motivation is a willingness to try because you recognize and accept that it makes sense for you to change. People who do something because they think they should feel pressured and more anxious. After all, who likes for someone to push them toward something that scares them? Imagine that you’re standing on a footbridge that swings a thousand feet above the valley floor.
