This is true about anxiety too. Our anxious responses are there to teach us, and we might not stop to question whether or not what they teach us about the world and ourselves is correct. Why would we? However, when you repeatedly act on incorrect information from your previous anxious response, you fail to learn that the world is safer than you think and that you’re more capable than you believe.
