you can notice and let go of each thought that enters your awareness. You acknowledge the thought (perhaps by saying gently to yourself, Thought) and return your attention to your breath. As you practice breathing mindfully, you’ll notice your attention wandering away from your breath to greet thoughts. Don’t feel discouraged or frustrated by this. This is normal and natural. Our minds naturally distract us from what we’re doing.
