Do not say prayers or affirmations, space out or distract yourself, visualize positive outcomes, or do anything that takes you away from your anxious response. Instead, anchor yourself in the moment, using the skills you’ve learned. Rather than trying
to avoid or lessen your anxious response, watch it and wait for it to lessen on its own. Anxious actions only get in the way of your ability to learn what’s important for you to know.
