The answer is physical sensations associated with your anxious response (as well as scary images of a spider biting you). As you begin to accept and better tolerate these physical sensations, you’ll discover that the urge to avoid the object or situations decreases, as does the urge to avoid the distressing physical sensations that arise as part of your anxious response. In this section, you’ll learn to approach, rather than avoid, the bodily sensations that are part of your anxious response.
