The first step in learning to watch and wait is to try out this new attitude of observing your experience as it occurs in the present moment. If you have an anxiety disorder, you might have spent many years dwelling on the future, among all the what ifs, and the present moment might be foreign territory. The following exercises introduce you to the experience of watching and waiting. Set aside about five minutes each day to practice one of the next two exercises.
