Below this are the 7 things you should do before applying for Google Adsense. Google Adsense is an affiliate program that works with Google. They have people post adverts on their Google AdWords program, and the subsequent adverts end up on their search engine and on other people’s websites.
If you want to have Google running adverts on your website, then here are a few tips to help you along.
1 – Clear your website of copied content
Google is not going to allow Google Adsense on your website if you have copied/plagiarized content on your website. This is going to mean running checks on your current pages to see if people have stolen them. Google wants your website to rank highly and if you have copied content then it is not going to fly and they are going to deny you access to Google Adsense.
2 – Run an SEO audit
Google wants to run adverts on a website that is doing well and that is going to rank highly. The higher you already rank then the higher the chances are that they will accept you. If you run a SEO audit then you will notice the things that are holding you back and you will be able to rectify them. That way even if you are not accepted right now then you may be the next time.
Just remember that Google wants you to be at the top of the search engine results, which means your best tactic is to get yourself at the top so that they have fewer reasons to say no to your website.
3 – Remove other affiliate advertising
Google is a little picky about who it gives affiliate advertising to if a website already has affiliate advertising on the website. There are rumors that you may be able to have affiliate advertising such as chitika on your website at the same time as Google Adsense, but it is better to put Google Adsense on first and then apply to Chitika.
4 – No naughtiness
Google are the puritans of the Internet, if it were not for the fact that the term puritan is actually a slur for people who were very different in the past from how they are currently depicted and thought of. But, enough of our warped history and on to how Google clucks its tongue like an old hen when it sees certain content. Here is a list of content you should not have if you want to join Google Adsense.
- Malware
- Violent
- Hacking
- Pirated software
- Adult
- Racial
- Offensive
5 – Look up the minimum number of posts you need (if needed)
There are a lot of people who say that you need fifty to seventy posts of at least five hundred words before your blog may be accepted, and that you need over fifty pages on your website before your website is accepted.
This seems to be false for innumerate reasons, but when you do apply to Google Adsense you should look it up on the website to find out if these claims hold any validity. It may be that some people are simply getting that reply from Google because they are not eligible in any other area.
6 – Be careful who you link to
The content of your page affect your chances with Google Adsense, and as you will read below, the people who link to you will affect your chances. The people you link to will also affect your chances. Google uses who you link to as a way of ranking your website.
They also take note if you are linking to websites they do not consider to be useful for the viewer. This means you should not link to websites that have adult or morally questionable material, nor should you link to websites that use black hat SEO.
7 – Check the backlinks on your website for naughtiness
The websites that link to you are going to affect your SEO and so affect your eligibility for acceptance into the Google Adsense program. If there are links from websites offering pirate software, then that is going to get you in trouble. If you have backlinks from content farms, torrent websites, and spam websites then you will be denied.
If you have links from gambling sites then you may be denied (except in Britain where it is legal). If you are really having trouble with a website or domain that is simply building bad backlink after bad backlink, then you are able to disavow the whole domain so that you may be accepted into the Google Adsense program.

Hi Sonia and Nirmal,
Informative post indeed 🙂
Yes, yesterday my guest author, Babanature, guided us about the very same topic of how we can get our Google Adsense account approved, and Nirmal left a link that guided me to this guest post of his, good co-incidence.
I think there are a lot of criteria that have to be considered and if you are on the right path and write good stuff, your account will be approved. How soon – would depend on other factors and where you are located and what all you share, isn’t it?
Thanks for sharing. Have a nice weekend 🙂
Yes, you are right. But main rules to get your Adsense account approved are common for all bloggers
Thank you
Hello Sonia Jackson,
I think its important to start writing some useful content in blog. then think to earn. New bloggers think that’s its too easy to get Adsense account & earn from Adsense. Yes its easy. But we must follow some basic rules. You told it in details. I hope new bloggers must learn from it.
Happy blogging 🙂
Hi, thank you for commenting here.
You are right, new bloggers want to start earning too fast. A little patience and work on your blog and you’ll get money from it
Never Apply for Google Adsense if you don’t have good traffic. First get a huge traffic then apply. Avoid adding other advertisements till got adsense approval. and Content is must to approve adsense so Don’t use copy or paste content.
Thank you for everything you have written here. I agree with you. That’s why a blog should be old enough to bring money to it’s owner
Hi Sonia,
I would like to add few lines like make your website professional with all pages in it. Like About us, Privacy policy, site map and so on.
I believe Google is not using any automated tool to check website structure. Getting Adsense approved is more or less first impression of you blog to Google website reviewer. Correct me anytime if I am wrong. 🙂
Right If you do not have good traffic then please do not apply for Google adsense. do work on your blog, build a good backlinks, get more traffic from US and UK and make your blog visible on search engine.
A Clear thought. Keep coming Swapnil Kharche.
I will try to remember this guide about adsense and thanks for it.
